Dan Mirvish is a filmmaker, teacher, author of the book, The Cheerful Subversive's Guide to Independent Filmmaking: From Preproduction to Festivals and Distribution, and co founder of the Slamdance film festival. 

We discuss learning filmmaking from a convicted axe murderer, starting Slamdance to rival Sundance, what happens when Dan is rejected from his own film festival, and TONS more.
